What Remains
Delete your account
What Remains is a private journal. You can permanently delete your What Remains account and all associated cloud data at any time. This page explains how, and what is removed.
Delete from inside the app
The fastest way is in the app itself: open Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Open SettingsRequest deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in, email javier@javierbravo.tech from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. Never include your password. We verify ownership of the email address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your What Remains account and sign-in credentials
- All journal entries stored in your cloud backup
- All photos stored in your cloud backup, and their metadata
- Your Cloud Backup subscription record and related billing events
Deleting from inside the app also erases the journal stored on that device. Copies you exported yourself are yours and are not affected.
Retention
Account and journal data are removed immediately when you delete from the app. Routine encrypted infrastructure backups may retain residual copies for up to 30 days before they expire, after which nothing remains. We keep no journal content for analytics or advertising, and we never sell data.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Cloud Backup subscription purchased through Google Play. Cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
